Check Permissions of Apps on Androids

ANDROID USERS / CHROME or EDGE BROWSER

Android phones are manufactured by several companies, so the application settings are usually found in different places, depending upon on your devices and software versions. Some Android phones show these App settings under > SETTINGS > Security & Privacy > Privacy > “Permission Manager” or “Privacy Controls” (Vary, depending upon manufacturer)

PERMISSION MANAGER

  • Under Permission Manager: You can view which Apps have access to your data through other Apps and click on the App to change the permissions (access) to:
    • 1) Allowed at this Time
    • 2) Ask Every Time
    • 3) Not Allowed (at all).

PRIVACY CONTROLS

  • Under Privacy Controls: It shows the Apps that have access globally – meaning not individual Apps, but across the board. It is important to read the description of each setting before you decide whether or not to turn OFF or ON.
  • Some applications and software access is listed under the SECURITY tab. You can check the access these applications have to your personal data.
  • No matter where your applications are stored, once you find the spot, you can change your Access settings by turning them OFF or ON.
  • Do not be intimidated. If you turn something OFF that you find out you need, just go back and turn it ON.

IT IS THAT SIMPLE. Finding the location of the Apps on your device just takes a little digging. Once you do, it is easy to adjust the settings OFF or ON.
